Why is it important to only have a Florida Certified Landscape Contractor design and install your new landscape?

The landscape industry in Florida is currently unregulated by the state so anyone can enter into business for themselves and claim to be a landscape professional without any form of education, training or certifications. This is very detrimental to the public who are unaware of this fact and think that all landscape companies are created equal. This many times comes at the customer’s expense when they make the substantial investment of re-doing their entire home’s landscape just to watch it slowly die away due to the lack of proper horticultural knowledge and experience their landscaper failed to possess. Many people make the mistake of believing that the company/person who mows their lawn is somehow also an expert on plant horticulture. Nothing could be further from the truth in most cases. I use the analogy many times “Would you let the assistant or secretary at a dental office perform a root canal on you? After all, they work in the dental field so they should be knowledgeable on everything in the matters of dentistry.” Unfortunately, many people use this logic when it comes to having their lawn maintenance company/person re-design and install their entire landscape. Unless that company/person is a Florida Certified Landscape Contractor, do not take a chance that you may soon regret.

As a Florida Certified Landscape Contractor (FCLC) with over 12 years in this industry, I have the education, knowledge, experience and training to create a beautiful landscape for all of my customers.
